04.17.12 By Megan So much is happening in this little family of ours. First, here are some family portraits we recently had done.

Batman is almost 6 months old. I can’t believe how quickly he is growing. He rolls over, scoots around on his tummy, could probably sit on his own if he would hold still long enough, and just got his first tooth!

Superman is 2 now and loves everything a two-year-old boy should love! Running, jumping, climbing, kicking… he is always on the move. He is talking more and more every day and even learning his letters!

Ross recently got a new job which will start in June. So we are moving! In fact, we are moving next week! We found the perfect rental house. Rental houses (instead of apts) are rare so we snatched it up as quick as we could even if it does mean an earlier moving date.

This was the easiest Two year old birthday party ever!
First, there was this super easy, but fantastic birthday cake. Just cover your cake in “dirt” (crushed oreos) and stick a toy tractor on top. I used some crumpled cupcakes to make a little dirt pile for the tractor to scoop. Below is a picture of the little birthday boy in awe of all the awesomeness!
Next, we had some very simple toddler friendly snacks and some “dirt” cupcakes piled in a dump truck.
Since it was a two year old party, I figured … read more

I attended a blog meet-up over the weekend and had a very interesting experience. It was my very first blog meet-up and it was fun and all…
but my reaction was not what I expected.
I expected to come away feeling totally psyched about blogging. I expected to feel totally inspired. I expected to be ready to take all this to the ‘next level.’
Instead I felt… how to say it… not discouraged, no, more like… real. The entire experience made me very self-reflective for a few days. And I learned some things about myself. Image Source: dan/freedigitalphotos.net

It’s snowing in our neck of the woods today. I know that Spring will be here before we know it so here is one more fun activity to do before the snow is all gone. I remember doing this with my grandma and it’s super simple.
1. Fill up a spray bottle with colored water.
2. Go outside.
3. Give the spray bottle to your child and show them how to spray the snow – “painting” it another color.
Superman had so much fun spraying not just the snow but everything else too!

I don’t know what to title this post. I don’t even really know where to begin or what to write. I feel like I dropped off the face of the earth and I’m trying to climb back No, seriously, I haven’t been blogging much and there is reasons for that but I can talk about that later. No, let’s talk now.
I love blogging, but it is hard! Really hard for me. I know that to be a “successful” blogger I need to put myself out there, but I worry so much about being liked (even … read more

This is so much fun and so easy. First grab a can of shaving cream. Squirt a little bit in each cup of a muffin tin and mix a few drops of food coloring in each.
Then get your kid naked in the tub, give him a paint brush and the newly created shaving cream paints and let him go at it on the giant blank slate of the bath tub and walls.
Love it!
